I'm too cautious by nature to enjoy it though. SO much can happen out there that it's good to go with company. To get people to come along, I invite just about everyone I know. I tell em that they can outfit at Discount Divers for around 20$ and swim all day, then I show them some of the cooler pictures and tell them about the neat stuff I've seen. I'll definitely invite you to come along on our next outing. I'm expecting that as the water cools a bit this fall we are going to have much better visibility than in the summer. I always go with a buddy, but I must confess I did go alone once. I’m too cautious by nature to enjoy it though. SO much can happen out there that it’s good to go with company.

To get people to come along, I invite just about everyone I know. I tell em that they can outfit at Discount Divers for around 20$ and swim all day, then I show them some of the cooler pictures and tell them about the neat stuff I’ve seen.

I've never been much of a water guy growing up, but I've decided I want my scuba cert, and snorkeling has been where I've started. I've been piddling around in the water here and it's been pretty amazing so far! Glad to know I'm not the only one out there snorkeling the sound. I recommend Pecos BBQ (on 1st Ave across the street from Starbuck's Building). A friend of mine is pit master at Carolina Kitchen in Redmond which is also pretty good, albeit more of a dry-rub Carolina style. I've made five more trips since then, including one last week where my wife and I explored Carkeek Park's northern beach run. Very accessible, pristine beds of eel grass and smooth easy swimming. Lots more to report, but I was hoping to get some more photos in my next posts (my buddy with the camera is slow to share pics!) I have!
